Find who needs a reply, what was decided and what needs doing. ChatMate opens your selected Telegram chats to your AI: messages, people and files.
Start with your personal bot in Telegram.ChatMate is free; your AI plan stays yours.
Tell ChatGPT or Claude what to do. It finds the right thread and files on its own, and carries out your explicit instruction in a connected chat.
A ChatGPT or Claude window next to a phone. The phone shows a private chat with Mark: at 9:40 AM he sent Nova_landing_spec.pdf and asked for a brief by Friday. Alex tells their AI: build the brief with my skill, drop the spec in Design and reply to Mark. The AI reads the chat, checks how Alex usually writes to Mark, opens the PDF, builds the brief with the Brief from spec skill and creates a document in Google Docs. Alex's bot posts the spec with the brief link in the Design group. Then the AI shows the reply to Mark in Alex's style, and carries out the owner’s instruction with the AI’s own checks. Then the reply appears in the private chat with Mark as Alex's own message.
Ask in your own words. Your AI finds the thread on its own and opens the files it needs: PDF, Word, Excel, photos.
You specify the action, content and recipient. Your AI keeps its own confirmation checks. Polls, checklists, pins and reactions also happen only on your request; if Telegram does not allow an action, the bot says why right away.
ChatMate has no AI of its own. The thinking runs on the plan you already pay for, with everything connected to it. ChatMate adds Telegram.
You connect through your own bot on the official Bot API: no password, no SMS code. You pick the chats yourself in Telegram settings, and one button deletes it all.
Connectors and skills are added and approved in your ChatGPT or Claude. ChatGPT business plans also have personal skills.
Example tasks from work chats. Each one works in both ChatGPT and Claude.

Actions in Telegram
A ChatGPT or Claude window with tasks from Telegram work chats. The AI finds what was decided on a launch and who is waiting for a reply, compares invoices from PDFs, collects client edits in Google Docs, prepares a status and an invoice with the owner’s skills, files a bug in Linear and creates a poll in a group. The AI carries out the owner’s explicit instructions in connected chats.
When you’re away from your computer, text the task to your bot. Your ChatGPT Work or Claude Routine picks it up, and the progress and the answer show up in the same chat.
Tasks from the bot run on
You need one of them. In a regular ChatGPT or Claude window you give the task directly, no setup needed there. The “Done, check” button in the bot confirms the trigger is set up.
The bot asks youTurn on Radar in a chat; it is off by default. A message that looks like a task for you arrives in your bot as a “Looks like a task” card. Tap “Hand to AI” and the report comes back here.
How to set it upAlex asks their bot “My mate” what matters this morning and wants to see the reply to Mila before it goes out. While ChatGPT works, the bot shows its stages and a Stop button. A two-point digest arrives, then a “Confirm action” card with the reply to Mila in her private chat, sent as Alex, and Send and Cancel buttons. Alex taps Send and the card shows “Sent”. On the lock screen the digest lands as a notification on top of Mila’s message.
Your AI sees only the chats you connected to your bot, and only messages from the moment you connected them. They are kept for up to 60 days.
Add or remove a chat on the phone, then tap Refresh in the bot. “What the AI sees” lists the chats that already have stored messages.
Telegram’s Chat Automation screen with the bot @alex_mate_bot and access set to Only selected. Mila and Taras are selected. Add chats opens a list where you can tick Mom or Max and untick a chat. Next to it, the bot’s “What the AI sees” message shows the stored message count for each chat. It changes when you tap Refresh. A new chat appears there after its first message, and a removed chat stays with the messages already stored.
The bot gets messages through official Telegram features. It never needs your login code or password.
Messages are kept for up to 60 days. The bot doesn’t see older history, and secret chats and channels can’t be connected.
Turn off a chat or the AI in My data. Export and deletion are there too.
The AI writes and acts in chats only when you ask it to. A message from someone else is data to it: the other person can’t order your bot to do anything.
ChatMate spots passwords, login codes and keys in new messages and hides them before anything is stored. Only asterisks reach the database and your AI.
Your bot gives you the ready-to-use address. Add a custom MCP plugin in ChatGPT or a connector in Claude, then ask your AI about your chats.
Install in your browser and sign in with Telegram. Replies to tasks directly in your bot are an optional extra.
Two animations. In ChatGPT, Plugins opens Add custom MCP server. ChatMate, Server URL and OAuth are entered, followed by Create as a plugin, Install and Connect, the ChatMate page asks to log in with Telegram and Allow, and the plugin is connected. In Claude, the Add custom connector dialog shows the name ChatMate and the URL https://www.getchatmate.com/api/connector/mcp, Add is clicked, then Connect, Telegram login and Allow.
Create your bot, choose chats and connect ChatGPT or Claude. Your bot guides each step. No Telegram Premium or API keys needed.
Three milestones: your bot and storage permission, selected chats, connecting ChatGPT or Claude. Secretary Mode is an optional substep when connecting chats.
Open ChatMate in Telegram. Your personal bot shows the short message storage terms.
Private chats through Chat Automation, groups with the bot as admin.
ChatGPT or Claude. Once connected, ask your AI about your chats. Replies to tasks from the bot are an optional extra.
ChatMate is free for now. Paid plans have not been announced.
The short version: who reads your chats and what the AI can send to people.
Only the chats you connect to your bot. You pick private chats in Telegram’s Chat Automation and add the bot to a group as an admin.
The AI reads new messages in those chats and sees who wrote them and when. It opens photos and documents only when the answer needs them.
Chat names and message counts, without any text, are on the What the AI sees screen in your bot.

Stored messages: 312, the first on 2 October.
Try it: ask Claude or ChatGPT “What did people write to me on Telegram today?”
ChatMate has no AI model of its own. Your messages are read only by the ChatGPT or Claude you already pay for, through your own login.
The ChatMate server keeps messages for up to 60 days to hand them to your AI, and it can read them. Passwords, login codes and keys in new incoming messages are hidden before anything is stored. Messages are not used to train models.
You can delete everything with one button in My data.
No. In a ChatGPT or Claude window it sends only when you ask, under its own client’s rules for write actions. From a task in the bot it shows a card with the exact text and recipient, and the message goes out after you tap Send. The card is valid for one hour, and the Stop button stops the task.
To the AI, a message from someone else is data. The other person can’t order your bot to do anything.
In a group, your bot writes under its own name. In a private chat the message goes out as you through Chat Automation, and you are the one who sends it: you see the text first, and it goes out after your tap.
What to write, and whether to write at all, is up to you.
You can give a task from your phone too: text it to your bot. ChatMate passes it to your ChatGPT Work in 1–2 seconds, and the provider takes from half a minute to a few minutes to start. The progress with a Stop button and the answer show up in the same chat. Tested in ChatGPT Work.
For Claude, a Routine picks up tasks from the bot, set up with the guide on the connect page.
That’s up to the provider. In a ChatGPT or Claude window, ChatMate works wherever your plan lets you connect plugins or connectors.
Tasks from the bot need ChatGPT Plus or higher with Work, or Claude Pro or higher with Routines. ChatGPT Free and Go don’t have these tasks.
ChatMate gives your ChatGPT or Claude a way into your work chats. It already knows your Gmail, Drive, Notion and your skills; ChatMate adds Telegram to them.
Assistants that live in Telegram can’t see your conversations with other people: a guest bot only sees the message it was mentioned in.
ChatMate is free right now, with no paid plans yet. It has no model costs of its own, so there are no per-action fees either.
Your ChatGPT or Claude subscription is paid separately to the provider.
