Connect your AI
Create your mate in @chatmate_aibot and connect your chats. At getchatmate.com/connect choose your AI, sign in with Telegram and allow access. Plugin availability and automatic tasks depend on your AI app.
Your AI cannot see a chat
Check your private chat selection in Chat Automation, the bot's admin rights in a group, and access in My data. History starts at connection. If newly added chats are missing from an older AI connection, reconnect it.
Your bot task has no reply
Connecting an AI alone does not enable automatic tasks. Follow getchatmate.com/connect to configure ChatGPT Work Events or a Claude Routine. Then send a short task and check that its reply reaches your bot.
Manage access and data
At getchatmate.com/data-controls you can disconnect a chat or AI, download your data and delete it. Remove the bot itself through @chatmate_aibot.

Describe the problem at github.com/saplq/chatmate-plugin/issues. Issues are public. Do not include private message text, tokens or other personal data.
Common questions
Telegram can do summaries and auto-replies on its own now.
Telegram gave you a socket: a bot can read the chats you pick and reply as you. The brain and the memory don’t come with it.
ChatMate plugs your ChatGPT or Claude into that socket, with 60 days of history, people’s names, files and your tools.
Is it hard to set up? Do I need Premium, a server or API keys?
Four steps on your phone: create a bot in @chatmate_aibot, turn on Secretary Mode in BotFather, add the bot to Chat Automation, connect ChatGPT or Claude. No Telegram Premium needed. No server, terminal or API keys either.
Will the AI see my old messages?
No. History starts when you connect a chat and is kept for up to 60 days. Secret Chats and channels can’t be connected. The AI doesn’t transcribe voice messages or videos.
Does it work with groups and channels?
Groups yes, including supergroups with topics. A group admin can connect it, and the bot joins as an admin too.
ChatMate doesn’t read channels or Secret Chats.
How do I turn it all off and delete it?
On the My data page you can turn off a chat, revoke the AI’s access, download an export and delete your data. You delete the bot itself in @chatmate_aibot.
