Grok reads X. Now it reads your Telegram too.
Add ChatMate on grok.com as a custom connector with one address. Then ask Grok what a group decided or what a client asked in Telegram, next to what it already finds on X and the web.
Grok on grok.com: the owner mentions ChatMate and asks what Leo and Eva agreed on pricing in Telegram, then asks to tell Leo that $29 works. Grok searches the chats, answers with sources, asks for permission and sends the reply to Leo.

Connect Grok.
Two minutes on grok.com in a browser. Grok Bot and Cursor keep their own connectors, so they need ChatMate added separately.
First, your personal bot
Grok reads Telegram through your own ChatMate bot. Create it in @chatmate_aibot and connect the chats you want. It takes a couple of minutes in Telegram and is done once for every AI.
How to create the bot and connect chatsOpen Connectors on grok.com
ConnectorsNew ConnectorCustom
Open grok.com connectorsGo to grok.com/connectors, or Skills and Connectors in the sidebar.
Paste the ChatMate address
Name it ChatMate, paste the address into Server URL and press Add. Grok finds ChatMate’s sign-in on its own, so there is no client ID or secret to enter.
Server URL https://www.getchatmate.com/api/connector/mcpSign in with Telegram
A pop-up opens a ChatMate page. Sign in with Telegram and allow access. Grok then shows “Connector added successfully”.
Ask in any chat
@ChatMate
Grok uses connectors when a question needs them. To point it at Telegram, type @ and pick ChatMate: “What did Leo and Eva agree on pricing?”
What works in Grok.
Grok reads the chats you connected, from the moment you connected them and up to 60 days back.
Answers from your chats
What a group settled on, who asked what, what is still open. Grok names the chat and the time.
Telegram next to X and the web
One answer can put what your team wrote in Telegram next to what Grok finds on X and the web.
Replies after Allow
Before ChatMate sends anything, grok.com shows “Permission needed” with Allow, Always allow and Deny.
You decide when
Grok reaches for ChatMate when a question needs your chats; type @ChatMate to point it there yourself.
Questions about Grok.
- Is this the Grok bot inside Telegram?
No. It works the other way: your own Telegram chats come into Grok on grok.com. You keep writing in Telegram as usual.
- Do I need a paid Grok plan?
No. xAI says connectors are available to all Grok users, and ChatMate is free for now.
- Is it the same connector as in Grok Bot and Cursor?
No. grok.com keeps its own connectors. Grok Bot and Cursor have theirs, and the Cursor page shows how to add ChatMate there.
- Does Grok send without asking?
It asks before a tool that changes data: “Permission needed” with Allow, Always allow and Deny. On Grok Business an admin can turn that question off for a server, so check your workspace settings.
- My company uses Grok Business
An admin adds ChatMate first in console.x.ai › Grok Business › Connectors › Add Connector › Other. Then each member connects it with their own Telegram sign-in.
- Can Grok answer tasks I send to my ChatMate bot?
Not from grok.com. Tasks you send to your bot are answered by an AI set up for that on the connect page, such as ChatGPT, Claude or Grok Bot.
